The Dallas Cowboys needed a bounce-back game after their three-game losing streak. And they got that much needed victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Dallas Cowboys came out in the first half of this game trying to make a statement. After losing their last three games, the Cowboys needed a bounce-back victory heading into their Week Eight bye.

The Dallas defense started strong with linebacker Jaylon Smith and defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence both forcing fumbles early on. Those takeaways would be converted into points by receiver Tavon Austin on a pitch from quarterback Dak Prescott and a rushing touchdown from running back Ezekiel Elliott.

But two personal foul penalties by Jaylon Smith and safety Xavier Woods would allow the Eagles to drive down the field for a touchdown and that’s how they would end the first quarter 14-7.

Offensive coordinator Kellen Moore had the Cowboys continue to pound the ball with Elliott in the second quarter and running back Tony Pollard at times. Allowing the Cowboys to build on their lead with a touchdown pass from Prescott to tight end Blake Jarwin and two field goals of 26 and 63 yards out from kicker Brett Maher.

The Dallas Cowboys would go on to take that lead into halftime 27-7 over the Eagles. But it wasn’t all roses for the Cowboys as starting linebacker Leighton Vander Esch (neck) and defensive end Robert Quinn (ribs) would leave the game with injuries.

The Eagles would come out on their first second-half possession and cut the lead to 27-10 after settling for a field goal. But the offense of the Cowboys continued to control the clock running the football and using play-action passes to pick up big first downs in the second half. While the Cowboys defense continued to pressure Wentz throughout the second half without their leading passer in Quinn.

The Cowboys would go on to win this game 37-10 because of their play on both sides of the football. The defense was able to force four turnovers and sacking Wentz three times. While the offense put up 213 passing yards and189 rushing and where able to possess the ball for over 32 minutes of the game.
