Nick Saban, Alabama Head Coach

It’s going to take a massive offer in order to entice Nick Saban to give up his empire in Alabama and take another shot at the NFL. But the Dallas Cowboys could be that offer.

More from The Landry Hat

There’s not much Saban hasn’t accomplished as a college head coach. Since taking over the Crimson Tide back in 2007, he’s led Alabama to six national championships and seems to have his team in contention every season.

His roster continually churns out NFL-talent, including Cowboys’ current top wide receiver Amari Cooper.

But Saban had a failed stint as the Miami Dolphins head coach from 2005-2006. And that fact still has to sting.

If not for a Miami signing quarterback Dante Culpepper instead of Drew Brees in free agency back in 2006, Saban might still be the head coach of the Dolphins.

If the 67-year old Nick Saban is ever going to make the jump back into the NFL, the Cowboys’ massive popularity along with its talented roster is likely going to be the best opportunity he’ll ever have. And we know that Jerry Jones is more than willing to open the pocketbook to entice talent to come to Big D.
