#2. Randall Cobb, WR

It seems that Cowboys’ fans were being sold a bill of goods this offseason following the acquisition of former Green Bay Packers receiver Randall Cobb. A consummate professional and top-flight locker room addition, Cobb’s arrival was supposed to make fans forget that slot-master Cole Beasley left Dallas for the snow-covered pastures of Buffalo this offseason.

And reports coming out of The Star raved about the quick connection formed between quarterback Dak Prescott and the 29-year old Cobb. Yet, through five games, these two have only been able to amass 17 receptions for 210 yards and one score.

More important is the numerous times these two haven’t connected. Cobb was the target when Prescott threw his first interception of the season against the Washington Redskins. Against the Packers on Sunday, the Prescott-Cobb disconnection was responsible for two more interceptions, although one of those picks was called back due to penalties.

It’s starting to become painfully obvious why the Packers were so willing to move on from their aging superstar wideout. Cobb seems to be struggling to gain consistent separation while his connection with Prescott isn’t as solid as advertised.
