It was a career-day for Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper against the Packers. Unfortunately, it was also the second-straight loss for America’s Team.

There were a lot of negatives to take away from the Dallas Cowboys 34-24 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon. From critical injuries suffered by the Cowboys’ offensive line to quarterback Dak Prescott‘s three interceptions, to two missed field goals by kicker Brett Maher.

But there were certainly some positives as well, despite how rare they might have seemed. The Cowboys certainly outplayed the Packers in the second half, outscoring Green Bay 21-3 to end the game. Second-year receiver Michael Gallup had a successful return from a knee injury, recording seven receptions for 113 yards and a score.

Running back Ezekiel Elliott appeared well on his way to another 100+ yard rushing day averaging 5.2 yards per carry. Unfortunately, two early touchdowns and two interceptions garnered by the Packers limited Elliott in the rushing game. Zeke would end the day recording 62 yards and a score on just 12 carries. He also had two catches for 29 yards.

But if there is one shining light fans can take away from Sunday’s defeat it is the play of wide receiver Amari Cooper. The three-time Pro Bowler posted the highest receiving yardage total of his five-year career against the Packers. Cooper registered 11 receptions for 226 yards and a touchdown in Week Five’s loss.

Cooper’s previous highest-yardage total of 217 receiving yards was posted just last season, in a 29-23 overtime victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Newly traded to Dallas, the former first-round wideout had 10 catches and three touchdowns in that pivotal Week 14 matchup, capping a five-game winning streak for the Cowboys.

In late October of 2018, the Dallas Cowboys traded their 2019 first-round selection to the Oakland Raiders for Amari Cooper’s services. Since Cooper’s arrival in Big D, the Cowboys have won 11 out of their 16 total games (includes playoffs) with him in the lineup.
