The Dallas Cowboys are coming off a disappointing loss and are playing the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. What does this game mean for America’s Team?

Losing to a team lead by a backup quarterback is not a good look for a team that is looking to compete for a Super Bowl. The Dallas Cowboys currently have a record of 3-1 and are playing the Green Bay Packers this Sunday in Arlington.

The game this Sunday is one that Cowboys fans should have marked on their calendar. Here are just a couple of reasons why.

Playoff Redemption

Back in the ’14-’15 and ’16-’17 seasons, the Dallas Cowboys were able to make the NFC Divisional game. Both years the Cowboys matched up against the Packers, and both games were ultimately lost by one score.

The first time was the game where former quarterback Tony Romo threw the ball to receiver Dez Bryant deep but was not called a catch. The second game, Green Bay won off a last-second, 51-yard field goal.

Both games were winnable for Dallas, but the Cowboys ultimately fell short. A win in either year would have made Dallas a relevant playoff team for the first time since they won the Super Bowl in ’95-’96, which was the last time they made the conference finals.

Now that the Cowboys have a respected defense to complement its explosive offense, they should make a good push in the playoffs this year. A win over their playoff kryptonite should only be more encouraging.
