The Dallas Cowboys take on the Miami Dolphins. In this week’s Huddle with Thrill, we will take a look at the Week Three match up and predict a winner.

On Sunday, the 2-0 Dallas Cowboys welcome the 0-2 Miami Dolphins to AT&T Stadium for a match up of two teams going in completely opposite directions. The Cowboys are coming off a convincing 31-21 win over the Washington Redskins while the Dolphins are reeling after their 43-0 loss to the defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots.

In the first two games, there were times it seemed like the Dallas offense was toying with the opposing defense. It didn’t go unnoticed by the national writers and former league executives, and as a result, the Cowboys have climbed the NFL power rankings as discussed in Mayan Meza Tovar’s piece on DallasCowboys.com.

Conversely, the Dolphins have been down right embarrassing and hard to watch. There is a growing chorus of pundits and tv personalities that believe Miami is purposely tanking the season to stockpile draft picks.Nate Davis’s power rankings on usatoday.com has them firmly entrenched in the last spot.

Last week saw quarterback Dak Prescott again play like one of the best signal callers in the NFL. He completed 26 of 30 passes for 269 yards and threw three more touchdown. He leads the league in completion percentage, yards per pass attempt, and is tied with Kansas City Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Baltimore Quarterback Lamar Jackson with seven touchdown passes.

Running back Ezekiel Elliott ran for 111 yards and a touchdown in his most extensive work of the young season. With his contract extension all wrapped up, the wait continues to see just how much per year the Cowboys will pay Dak.

As for the Dolphins game, it will tell us if the Cowboys can play to their own level of expectation and not down to the level of competition. There are some intriguing aspects to this week’s game that could alter the outcome.

Let’s  jump into the match up from an offensive, defensive, and special teams perspective then predict a final score.
