The Dallas Cowboys proved their Week One victory over the Giants wasn’t a fluke by getting a road victory over another divisional rival, the Washington Redskins.

The Dallas Cowboys started their 2019 NFL regular season with a decisive victory over the New York Giants, 35-17. It was a career-performance by fourth-year quarterback Dak Prescott, who completed 25 of his 32 passes for 405 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions posting a perfect quarterback rating of 158.3.

Despite the win, many questioned the quality of the Cowboys’ Week One opponent and doubted it could be duplicated in their next matchup. That being another divisional battle, this time on the road against the Washington Redskins.

And those concerns seemed valid when the Cowboys’ offense struggled out of the gate at FedExField, with their first three series resulting in two punts and an interception. But Dallas would respond with five-straight scoring drives afterward resulting in 31 points. And the Cowboys would end up defeated the Redskins for their second-straight win, 31-21.

Prescott finished the day completing an amazing 26 of his 30 passing attempts for 269 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Dak also rushed for 69 yards, the fifth-highest amount for a quarterback in franchise history.

After getting just 13 carries in Week One, running back Ezekiel Elliott exploded for 111 yards and one score on the ground against the Redskins. Zeke carried the rock 23 times averaging 4.8 yards per rushing attempt.

Michael Gallup led the Cowboys receivers with six receptions for 68 yards. But fellow wideouts Amari Cooper and Devin Smith both scored touchdowns. Also splashing in the endzone for the second-consecutive week was tight end, Jason Witten.

Defensive end Tyrone Crawford recorded the lone sack for the Cowboys on defense. Linebacker Jaylon Smith recorded a team-leading 11 combined tackles in the win.
