As the Dallas Cowboys prepare to take on the New York Giants in the regular season opener, we head behind enemy lines with FanSided’s GMenHQ.com.

The Dallas Cowboys will face a familiar foe on Sunday to kick off their regular season. The Cowboys will host their longtime NFC East rival, the New York Giants, at AT&T Stadium.

When it comes to divisional rivals, you can throw out the previous standings, rankings, and stats as these are teams who see each other at least twice a year and know more about each other than any franchise outside the division.

With that in mind, The Landry Hat decided to go behind enemy lines for some insider information. We were able to obtain answers to five questions from site expert Charles Vitolo of GMEN HQ, FanSided’s site devoted to the Giants. Here are the results of our covert efforts …

#1. Do you believe Daniel Jones should be the starting quarterback Week One for the Giants over Eli Manning?

CV: At this juncture, I do not. There was certainly a conversation to be had in the off-season about whether or not Eli should have been brought back, particularly at that cap number. But, we’re here now, and Eli gives us the best chance to win. ‘Danny Dimes’ looked fantastic in the pre-season – and I am now very hopeful for his future- but that shouldn’t earn him a week one start.

Eli deserves the chance to show that he has something left behind a functional offensive line, and in my opinion, should be the starter until we’re just about mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.

#2. Name one relatively unknown Giants’ player that you believe will surprise Cowboy fans on Sunday.

CV: O’shane Ximines. The third-round selection out of Old Dominion got a lot of flack for playing against weak competition in college, but looked every bit the part of an NFL pass-rusher during all of camp and pre-season.

It’s no secret that we’re dying for pass-rush help, I think we’ll see a couple of hurries and maybe even a sack out of the ‘X-Man’ tomorrow. It’s fair to assume that he’s got to earn full time snaps, mostly by showing he can be adequate in pass coverage, but expect to see him in the edge-rushing rotation. He’s extremely quick of the line and has a knack for timing the snap count perfectly.
