With the Dallas Cowboys and Ezekiel Elliott coming to an agreement on a new contract, now it’s time to focus on the Giants. Time for a game plan.

When the Dallas Cowboys take the field against the New York Giants Sunday everything that they have dealt with this offseason will mean nothing. The only thing that will matter is taking the field and beating the Giants in the season opener.  But first, we need a game plan.

The Giants are going to look very different when they take the field against the Cowboys, which is a good thing. Both sides of the ball for the Giants are vulnerable to the strengths of the Cowboys. Let’s start on the offensive side of the ball and how they can beat the Giants.

The biggest weakness on this Giants team is their defensive line. The Cowboys should be able to control the line of scrimmage throughout this game thanks to their high-priced and very talented offensive line. They should be able to push this defensive line around and get to the second level.

That will open things up for Dallas Cowboys star running back Ezekiel Elliott who now doesn’t have to worry about safety Landon Collins coming in for a tackle. Once the Cowboys get the running game going, quarterback Dak Prescott can exploit their safeties and corners with play-action passes.

For the Cowboys defense, it’s pretty simple, stop running back Saquon Barkley and force quarterback Eli Manning and their depleted receiving core to beat you.

For this to happen, the defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence and the rest of the Hot Boyz will have to dominate a bad offensive line and use gap discipline to make sure they don’t allow Barkley to find a way to find a hole and gain large chunks of yards. If he does find a hole then linebackers Leighton Vander Esch and Jaylon Smith must get him to the ground quickly or Barkley could take it to the house.
