With one of the most talented rosters of the decade, the Dallas Cowboys are back in Oxnard. Here are three questions heading into training camp.

Officially, the Dallas Cowboys training camp started Friday with their arrival in Oxnard, California. The weekend featured a couple of glorified walkthroughs while Monday kicked off the first padded practice of 2019.

Training camp is officially here and in full swing. Over the last couple of weeks, I detailed the depth and talent that the 2019 Dallas Cowboys possess. This group is certainly the best within the division and one of the best within the entire NFL.

So, as the Cowboys prepare for the upcoming season in one of the most underrated cities in all of Southern California, let’s discuss the three biggest questions surrounding this team.

Question 1: Will any of the defensive backs take the next step?

Byron Jones made his first Pro Bowl last season, not to mention second-team All-Pro. This coincided with his first full year at the cornerback position. Jones ranked fifth out of 131 corners, according to Pro Football Focus. Beyond Jones, there are tons of questions.

Is Chidobe Awuzie ready to step up and make big plays when teams shy away from Jones? Will Jourdan Lewis challenge Anthony Brown for the third corner spot? Is Xavier Woods really as good as the organization and its fans hype him up to be? Will Jeff Heath remain a starter? Can a dark horse like Donovan Olumba, Chris Westry, Darian Thompson or Donovan Wilson surprise and earn a roster spot?

The Cowboys boast one of the best starting linebacking corps in all of football. Their line has potential to be devastating as well. If the defensive backs can step up, this defense could be dangerous.
