Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl quarterback Dak Prescott is ready to prove his doubters wrong this season and here are three reasons why …

With training camp still a couple of weeks away, one of the biggest questions fans of the Dallas Cowboys are pondering is about quarterback Dak Prescott. Entering his fourth season, Prescott is in line to receive a major payday soon in the form of a contract extension.

With a new deal for Prescott imminent, I believe the 25-year old passer will continue to prove himself with a breakout performance in 2019. And here are three reasons why …

#1 – The Amari Cooper effect

Last season, with the addition of wide receiver Amari Cooper, the Cowboys saw their offensive numbers increase significantly. Prescott’s passer rating skyrocketed with Cooper on the field going from an 86.8 rating to 104.6. He now has had an entire offseason to work with the star wideout as Cooper is preparing to enter his first full season in Dallas.

Based off of last season’s production Cooper’s numbers project to 107 catches, 1,712 yards, and 16 touchdowns. Those numbers show how much impact he provides in the passing game. The growth of second-year receiver Michael Gallup plus the addition of veteran Randall Cobb means the Cowboys will have a ton of offensive firepower through the air.

#2 – Travis Frederick and Ezekiel Elliott

In 2016, when Prescott won the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year Award, he had center Travis Frederick and running back Ezekiel Elliott on the field for the entire season. As a result, the Cowboys went on to be the first seed in the NFC with a 13-3 record.

Over the past two seasons, injuries and suspensions have hindered Frederick and Elliott from being available. This year, the two should be on the field alongside Prescott and will help boost his game.

Prescott has had some of his best games when the Cowboys were able to run the ball effectively. Elliott looks to be poised for an even better year under new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. Zeke is going to find himself involved in the passing game more and that will result in Dak’s success.

Also, last season, Dallas struggled in pass protection as the offensive line allowed the most sacks (56) during Prescott’s tenure. That led to many inaccurate throws and turnovers. As long as Frederick and Elliott remain on the field, I believe it’s gonna be smooth sailing for Prescott and the offense.

#3 – The Dak Factor

Prescott has proven everyone wrong after being selected in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He’s lead America’s Team to the postseason twice in three seasons. Still, Dak has his doubters and this is his season to silence his critics.

Prescott is clutch and calm under pressure. He’s posted 14 game-winning drives. And Dak has 12 passing touchdowns to just one interception either in the fourth quarter or in overtime in games decided by fewer than eight points.

Over the past three seasons, Prescott has a 66.1 completion percentage and has thrown for 10,876 yards and 67 touchdowns. Those are elite numbers and stack up with some of the best quarterbacks in the league.

Dak Prescott is a winner. He always seems to find a way to win the game. I believe he is gonna take the next step in his development this season under new quarterbacks coach Jon Kitna. This will be the year the Dallas Cowboys find themselves in the Super Bowl for the first time since 1996.
