Dallas Cowboys: Larry Allen Jr. highlights expected UDFA class
The Dallas Cowboys need to hit on some of their undrafted rookie free agent signings this offseason with much of their salary cap going to top-tier players.
Following the completion of the 2019 NFL Draft over the weekend, the Dallas Cowboys went to work agreeing to deals with several undrafted rookie free agents. This is an area where the Cowboys have found some of their best players in the past.
Stars like quarterback Tony Romo, kicker Dan Bailey, safety Bill Bates, wide receiver Drew Pearson, safety Cliff Harris and cornerback Everson Walls and many more were all signed as undrafted free agents. And with the Cowboys expected to ink several of their top-tier players to pricey contract extensions soon, the team needs to find some inexpensive role players to fill their depth charts.
Although the Cowboys have not released an official list of their undrafted rookie free agent signings for 2019 as of yet, here’s what we were able to piece together from several different sources. Also remember, some of these players may have only agreed to a deal but not yet signed a contract.

Two names stand out among this list of relative unknowns. Obviously, the name Larry Allen will be recognizable for any Cowboy fans that followed the team the last time they won a Super Bowl.
Allen was a Hall of Fame offensive lineman for Dallas from 1994-2005. He earned himself a whopping 11 Pro Bowl nominations and was named an All-Pro seven times. A member of the Cowboys’ Ring of Honor, Allen’s son is now reportedly signing as an undrafted rookie free agent to play for his dad’s old team.
The other standout name that’s joining the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent is Kansas defensive tackle Daniel Wise. Speculated to be a possible target for the Cowboys during the draft itself, Wise is the brother of current New England Patriots’ defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. and former teammate of current Cowboys’ defensive end, Dorance Armstrong.
