The Dallas Cowboys had two selections in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Here’s their first pick in the final round of the annual selection event.

With several of their star players looking for pricey contract extensions, the Dallas Cowboys need to find inexpensive role players in the draft. And they continued to do so in the seventh round, owning two picks.

This is a round Dallas has found names like tight end Geoff Swaim and wide receiver Noah Brown in recent years. Did the Cowboys find themselves yet another hidden gem in this year’s final round? We’ll see.

With the 218th overall selection in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select …

NAME: Mike Weber
POSITION: Running back
SCHOOL: Ohio State
HT/WT: 5-10, 211
2018 Stats: 954 rushing yards, 5.5 ypc, 5 tds
PROS: Vision, agility, good receiver, balance
CONS: Lacks acceleration, slow at times, pass pro

QUICK ANALYSIS: The Dallas Cowboys double-dip at running back in this draft with the selection of Mike Weber in the seventh after adding Memphis’ Tony Pollard in the fourth round. In a similar way the Cowboys drafted Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough in the seventh round last season, Weber will get a chance to prove himself this summer. He is certainly better between the tackles than Pollard. Should compete with Darius Jackson for final roster spot.
