A list of the Dallas Cowboys picks in the 2019 NFL Draft
The NFL Draft kicks off this Thursday night, but the Dallas Cowboys don’t have a selection in the first round. Here’s a list of their six picks in 2019.
The Dallas Cowboys enter the 2019 NFL Draft with only six total selections. And that’s due to trades. The pick that will be missed the most is in the first round.
The Cowboys traded their first-round selection (27th overall) to the Oakland Raiders last season. In exchange, Dallas received Pro Bowl wide receiver, Amari Cooper. In nine games last season, Cooper posted 53 receptions for 725 yards and six touchdowns for the Cowboys. He also earned his third Pro Bowl bid in four years.
Cooper’s presence on the roster might offer little consolation while the Cowboys’ franchise and its fans suffer through the entire first round of the draft on Thursday night without a selection. One-by-one, some of the best prospects in the world will be chosen by other teams while Dallas is forced to wait until their first selection, 58th overall in the second round.
The Cowboys also traded away their sixth-round selection, 198th overall, to the Cincinnati Bengals. They did so back in September of 2017 in order to acquire cornerback Bene Benwikere. The veteran defensive back spent just one season in Dallas, recording two tackles and a pass defend in 12 games.
