Dallas Cowboys: Rating NFL.com’s 4-round mock draft
The NFL’s official website recently released a four-round mock for the upcoming draft. Let’s review and rate the selections made for the Dallas Cowboys.
The 2019 NFL Draft is less than a month away, and mocks are at an all-time high. With rumors of 30 pre-draft visits trickling in, fans of the Dallas Cowboys are getting a much better idea which prospects the team might select in late April.
In a recent four-round mock draft by NFL.com, there were several selections made for the Cowboys. Let’s review and rate these picks. We’ll also see who else was available at the time and ponder whether the right choice was made.
Second Round Selection (58): Miles Boykin, WR – Notre Dame
Pick Analysis: Based on the rumored 30 pre-draft visitors, the Cowboys are bringing in several wide receivers. So they figure to be open to drafting for the position despite their current bloated depth chart that includes Amari Cooper, Randall Cobb, Michael Gallup, Allen Hurns and others.
Boykin’s unusual combination of size (6-foot-4, 220) and speed (4.42) is intriguing. He reminds me somewhat of Brice Butler, only with much more upside. Butler was a similar receiver the Cowboys desperately tried to develop for over four years. But I’m not convinced Dallas wouldn’t rather go with Deebo Samuel over someone like Boykin, as the wideout from South Carolina has been confirmed as an incoming 30-visit.
Others Still Available: Taylor Rapp – S, Deebo Samuel – WR, Zach Allen – DE, Riley Ridley – WR, L.J. Collier – Edge
