Houston native, Trayveon Williams, is staying in Texas and making Dallas his new home. The former four star high school recruit wont have to travel far from college station and shouldn’t be long before he carves out his role on the offense.

Clearly, the workload Ezekiel Elliot is carrying is starting to take it’s toll, as he was noticeably banged up near the end of the season. The All-Pro running back had over 300 carries to go along with 77 receptions, but Williams will help take some of the load off.

Trayveon has shown that he can do anything needed out of the backfield. He’s a very well balanced runner that can bounce off contact and continue running forward and has also shown power and willingness to get in the end zone in goal line situations despite his smaller frame. He has some things to work on to become a work horse type back but that wont be needed in Dallas.

What pops out the most about Williams is what he does in the passing game. He has great hands out of the backfield and also has the skill set to line up and run routes as a wide receiver. Williams excels at blocking both in the back field and in the open field on quarterback runs and jet sweeps which bodes well for the Dak Prescott-led offense.

As a running back that comes into the NFL as a standout in the passing game, Trayveon Williams is a plug-and-play type player. Williams’ skill set fits perfectly as a complimentary back with what the Cowboys do with their offensive scheme. He should add another passing threat and sure blocker to an offense that desperately needs their star running back to be able to take plays off during the course of a game.
