Will the Dallas Cowboys sign a free agent quarterback?

I’d try to get Tyrod Taylor to agree to a one-year deal for the veteran minimum of $930K.

It’s unlikely that Taylor commands a whole lot more anywhere else to hold a clipboard and wear a ball cap.

If Tyrod agrees to become a Cowboy, I’d cut Cooper Rush, spending that extra $285K on a major upgrade at the most important position on the field.

This would allow Mike White another year to continue his development, preparing him for the full-time backup job in 2020.

I don’t think the Cowboys’ front office will go this route however.

Dallas does not seem interested in a veteran option behind Prescott for some reason.

Two years ago, it was Rush and current offensive coordinator Kellen Moore backing up Dak.

Last season, it was Rush and White with Moore moving to quarterbacks coach.

Sadly, I believe the Dallas Cowboys will roll the dice once more on Prescott’s health and availability for 2019. Let’s hope they continue to not crap out.
