Even though the Dallas Cowboys will once again miss the big game today, I have constructed a “Super” Dallas Cowboys lineup for such a big day.

Later this afternoon, the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots will play in Super Bowl LIII. This will be the Rams fourth trip. A win will give them a Super Bowl record of 2-2. The Patriots, on the other hand, are making their eleventh trip.

With five wins already, they are looking to break their tie with San Francisco and your Dallas Cowboys and join Pittsburgh as the only other team with six rings. This will also mark the 23rd Super Bowl played since the Dallas Cowboys last participated in the game.

According to the 2017 US Census, there are just over 76 million people aged 18 or younger. Another 28.3 million Americans are between the ages of 19-25. That means almost 100 million people in this country have not seen the Dallas Cowboys in a Super Bowl in their lifetime. This article is for all of you.

Who am I kidding? It’s for the rest of us as well who have lived and loved the “glory years” of the early 1990’s and entire 1970’s. Most of us are probably rooting for the Rams to keep New England at five with us. A good number probably don’t really care.

For those of us who wish to live the good days once more or just want to find a way to make today relevant to this organization, I have created a “Super” Dallas Cowboys lineup. Through eight games, there have been a lot of memorable players and clutch moments by men who wear the Star on their helmet.

The Dallas Cowboys are still the only team to have a Super Bowl MVP even though they lost the game in which he played. The Cowboys were also the first team to ever win three Super Bowls in four years.

The construction of this Super lineup is based almost solely upon how the player fared on the game’s biggest stage. If there was a situation where all things were equal, I deferred to the player’s career status.

Without further ado, I present to you, the Super Dallas Cowboys starting lineup …
