The next best options

Minnesota or Philadelphia. Neither is likely to play Dallas in this year’s postseason tournament. One of these teams will be the final team in. In order for Dallas to even think about the Vikings or Eagles, Dallas, along with one of these two, would need to make the NFC Championship.

In that incredibly unlikely scenario, I believe the Cowboys would matchup more favorably against Philadelphia as they already beat them twice this year. Minnesota’s defense would not be a fun unit to play against, especially for a team that can struggle offensively such as the Cowboys.

A team on the ropes?

The Los Angeles Rams started out 2018 with eight straight wins. After a thrilling game against the Saints resulted in a loss, the won three more in a row. One of those wins was the epic Monday night game versus Kansas City. At that point, most of the football world had the Rams as the NFC’s best team.

Fast forward to December and Los Angeles has lost two of their last three games. Chicago’s mauling defense held the high-powered Rams to just six points. A week later, the Eagles found their mojo in L.A.

While they are still quite potent, the status of star running back Todd Gurley‘s knee, along with those December losses makes the Rams appear more vulnerable than imagined.
