Coming off a much-needed victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, here are three Christmas gifts that should be on the Dallas Cowboys‘ wish list.

The Dallas Cowboys got an early Christmas gift on Sunday when they defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home, 27-20. The victory not only made the Cowboys the 2018 NFC East Champions, but it also secured them a place in the playoffs.

But the Cowboys have been trending in the wrong direction their past two games, losing in a blowout to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 15, 23-0. And despite the win on Sunday over the Bucs, Dallas’ offense struggled to put up 232 yards against one of the worst defenses in the NFL.

With today being Christmas Eve, here are three gifts the Cowboys should want Santa to leave under the tree for their team before the playoffs begin.

Dak Prescott – Gift of Accuracy

According to the stats, Prescott is one of the most accurate quarterbacks in the NFL with a completion percentage of 68.3 so far this season. But those numbers are deceiving as Dak is the king of the check down. The third-year passer continues to play conservative football and struggles at times to make longer throws when they count the most.

If the Cowboys could get one gift this holiday season, it would likely be to give their young quarterback better passing accuracy.

Offensive Line – Gift of Health

The Cowboys offensive line has struggled to stay healthy all year. And that, of course, began just before the start of the season when All-Pro center Travis Frederick was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease (Guillain Barre Syndrome). Injuries to their other Pro Bowlers, left tackle Tyron Smith and right guard Zack Martin, have hurt this once dominant group as well.

The Cowboys can not afford to have those injuries reoccur in the postseason as there’s simply no way to replace them. Especially all at once. And honestly, this offense has been bad at times even with most of them in the lineup. Without them …

The Defense – Gift of Takeaways

Despite how great the Cowboys defense has performed this season, there is one area where this group struggles mightily. And that’s in creating turnovers. Dallas ranks a lowly 26th in interceptions in 2019, recording only eight picks through 15 games. Their 10 take-away fumbles, including two against the Bucs on Sunday, rank them seventh in the league.

With the Dallas Cowboys offense struggling to put up points consistently, America’s Team will need their defense to create some easy scoring opportunities if they want to win their first playoff game since 2014.
