Is the Dallas Cowboys‘ Dak Prescott underrated? Is he a franchise quarterback? Does he need help to succeed? Let’s compare with other young passers.

Perhaps, Dak Prescott, quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, deals with more pressure than any other athlete in the nation. Perhaps, Prescott is just a “one year wonder”. Perhaps, he needs weapons around him to succeed. Perhaps, Prescott might be the perfect fit for the Cowboys.

For three years now, fans across the National Football League have debated how good Prescott really is. Some find themselves on the side saying he’s a mediocre quarterback at best, and others believe Dak is even a top ten quarterback.

However, like many issues , the middle ground is probably a safer route to stick to. Prescott is a good quarterback in this league. As Cowboys fans, we tend to compare him to other recent great passers: Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, and of course—Tony Romo.

Do we really expect Prescott to ever be as good as those named above? Do we need him to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer or break each of the Cowboys’ passing records? No.

At the end of the day, the only stat that matters in sports is the win-loss record. And Prescott has a good amount of wins on his resume. Of course, he needs help. Every quarterback needs help.

If fans are relying on a quarterback to lead a talentless team to the Super Bowl, they might need to find a therapist because that never happens. Newsflash: Football is a team sport.

Before diving into Prescott, let’s quickly analyze the assets that the current young quarterback “hot shots” have, beginning with Kansas City Chiefs second-year passer Patrick Mahomes.
