The Dallas Cowboys are red hot with three weeks left in the season. Let’s take a look at how they rank among the potential NFC playoff teams.

The Dallas Cowboys are one of the hottest if not the hottest team in the NFL right now. Yet they still aren’t truly getting the respect that they deserve among the football experts. Let’s take a look at the potential playoff teams as they are now and rank them accordingly.

Now if we are going off of how the teams are performing as we go into the playoffs then the rankings would look more like this in the NFC.

#1 Dallas Cowboys

No, I’m not saying this because I am a Cowboys fan. The Dallas Cowboys would be my number one because they beat the New Orleans Saints who in turn beat the Los Angeles Rams. Their offense is clicking at the right time thanks to the emergence of receiver Amari Cooper.

It forces opposing defenses to play honest and stop crowding the box for running back Ezekiel Elliott. They also have a  defense that’s continuing to dominate the opposing offenses. Those combined will make the Cowboys a tough team to beat in the playoffs if they can keep it up.

#2 Los Angeles Rams

The Rams are a team built to win this year. They have a young core led by quarterback Jared Goff and running back Todd Gurley on offense and arguably the best defensive player in the league in defensive tackle Aaron Donald. They are well balanced on both sides of the ball and will be a tough draw for any team to play in the playoffs.

#3 New Orleans Saints

The Saints are a team that can score with anyone in this league and have proven it this season. The problem for the Saints is their running game has started to struggle. The Dallas Cowboys have shown teams that if you can stop their running game it will then stop their deadly play action passing game. If the Saints want to regain their offensive form they need to get the ground game going again.

#4 Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears would come in at number four even after their win against the Rams last week. They have the number one ranked defense in the league right now and that what drops them to number four.

They just got back their starting quarterback in Mitchell Tribisky but the passing game is still struggling. But with that defense and head coach Adam Gase creative playcalling the Bears have a chance to make a run in the playoffs.

#5 Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks like the Dallas Cowboys are starting to peak at the right time. Their defense is playing lights out and their offense is playing well enough to stay in games. Their problem is the same as the Bears.

They are able to run the ball but they aren’t able to create much in the passing game other than off of play action passes. If they want to have any chance this season they need to get receiver Doug Baldwin back healthy soon because that young secondary will be tested come playoff time.

#6 Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings right now are in free fall after the firing of their offensive coordinator John DeFilippo. Once arguably the best team in the league a season ago the Vikings are on the verge of missing the playoffs. To be honest I don’t think they make the playoffs. My guess would be the Carolina Panthers sneak in at number six.
