The Dallas Cowboys have officially ruled out four of their players for their upcoming battle against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

The Dallas Cowboys enjoyed a long layoff following their Thursday night defeat of the New Orleans Saints way back in Week 13. The 11-day span between contests has allowed many of their players to rest and recover as we near the end of a grueling regular season.

Still, the Cowboys do have some key players who have either been ruled out for the upcoming divisional matchup or are questionable to play. And with the fate of the NFC East hanging in the balance, Dallas needs all hands on deck.

According to the Cowboys ‘final injury report, four of their players have been ruled out for the pivotal game against the Eagles. Those players are wide receiver Tavon Austin (groin), linebacker Sean Lee (hamstring), defensive tackle David Irving (ankle) and tight end Geoff Swaim (hand).

These four were unable to practice at all this week and each has missed multiple games in a row due to their injuries. That means the Dallas has been able to post a four-game winning streak with most of them sitting on the sidelines, which is a credit to the team’s depth.

Questionable for the Cowboys matchup with the Birds are starting left tackle Tyron Smith and rookie wide receiver Michael Gallup. Smith has missed the Cowboys last two games due to a neck injury. The five-time Pro Bowler was able to practice on a limited basis all week. If Smith is unable to play, veteran Cameron Fleming should once again get the starting nod. The former New England Patriot starter has played well in Tyron’s place.

As for Michael Gallup, the Dallas Cowboys young rookie starting receiver missed Friday’s practice due to illness. Surely the Cowboys hope he’ll be able to recover by Sunday afternoon as the Philadelphia Eagles’ pass defense ranks a lowly 26th in the NFL coming into this matchup.
