After winning four-straight games, here’s what Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott recently revealed has become his new superstition.

The Dallas Cowboys are on a roll. After a soul-crushing 28-14 loss to the lowly Tennessee Titans in Week Nine, the Cowboys battled back to win four straight games against some quality opponents. And many factors have been credited for the streak that has set Dallas atop the NFC East standings.

The biggest factor has likely been the consistent play of third-year running back Ezekiel Elliott. During this four-game stretch, Elliott has posted 100+ rushing yards in three of those contests. Zeke has also scored at least one touchdown in each of the games as well.

Elliott’s play, combined with an elite defense and a new offensive teammate in All-Pro wide receiver Amari Cooper, has lifted the Cowboys to new heights. Now it appears Dallas will be playing in their biggest matchup yet as they face the Philadelphia Eagles at AT&T Stadium on Sunday in a pivotal divisional contest with heavy playoff implications.

For America’s Team, it’s important to keep the winning momentum going throughout the month of December. They’ll simply need to keep doing what got them here. For Elliott and his quarterback, Dak Prescott, it means keeping a new tradition alive.

Here’s what Elliott revealed to DallasCowboys.com recently about the new superstition that he believes has helped to spark their winning streak.

"“It’s really funny, because me and Dak were like, ‘Man, we’ve got to get something going. We need some new juju or something. Let’s wear long sleeves this game’. And that was that Philly game and that was the start of this win streak.”"

There have been many stories throughout the years of players maintaining superstitious routines and odd practices, especially in the midst of a winning streak. From eating the same pregame meals, wearing the same articles of clothing (often times without washing them from game to game), sleeping right before having to play or even inciting a bit of physical violence on themselves.

Ten-year NFL veteran defensive tackle John Henderson, who played much of his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars between 2002-2009, used to have a member of his team’s training staff violently slap him in the face before games. So hard, at times, the hit would even draw blood.

As for the Dallas Cowboys stars, Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott probably prefer simply wearing long sleeves over getting slapped in the face before their big matchup against the Eagles on Sunday.
