The last component ties into the previous piece. Will the coaching staff has this team in position to handle the business they should handle? This one is by far the most sketchy of all propositions. After two games of relatively solid play-calling on offense, the ugliness in the red zone reared its head twice on Thanksgiving. If we’re being honest, horrible angles, tackling and just plain slips and falls led to both big touchdowns by Cooper.

These are not things you can count on week-to-week. The team has also been playing under a certain air of desperation to get to the spot they are currently in right now. Will the coaching staff notice if they let up a little?

Truth be told, this team cannot afford to think for one second that they are in any position to let up. The coaches need to remind the team every day in clear and creative wins that a “must win” mentality needs to be kept in order to remain successful. I believe this is a good team. I think Philadelphia has dug themselves a hole to deep to escape. Ten wins seems awfully doable looking at the schedule ahead.

It’s that last component that has me the most concerned. I do not trust head coach Jason Garrett or offensive coordinator Scott Linehan. With the other three components in place, the hope is the talent on this team can somehow cover up for the lack of coaching confidence.

Because of that talent, I will choose to very cautiously believe in the Dallas Cowboys. If things all fall apart, it will likely mean the team will be under new leadership next year. Hopefully that truth is enough to motivate the coaches to be at their best as well.
