The adjustments made in their bye week did not help the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night, as the lost to the struggling Tennessee Titans, 28-14.

Coming off a tough 20-17 loss to the Washington Redskins in Week Seven, the Dallas Cowboys used their bye week to assess their season so far and make some necessary adjustments. They traded away their 2019 first-round selection in a trade with the Oakland Raiders for Amari Cooper. Dallas also fired their offensive line coach, Paul Alexander.

With those changes, and two entire weeks to study and prepare, the Cowboys figured to be the favorites at home against a struggling Tennessee Titans team who had lost their previous three games.

Yet, in their lone Monday night matchup of the regular season, the Cowboys were handily defeated by the Titans 28-14. After taking the initial lead in the ballgame, 7-0, Dallas was outscored 28-7 through the other three quarters.

Quarterback Dak Prescott completed 21 of his 31 passes for 243 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the endzone. Prescott only ran the ball twice for 11 yards. He was sacked five times.

Running back Ezekiel Elliott failed to hit the 100-yard rushing mark for the fifth-time in eight games. Elliott ended the night recording 61 yards on 17 carries and catching four passes for 51 more yards.

In his debut, Cooper posted a team-high five receptions for 58 yards and a score. Rookie wide receiver Michael Gallup had three catches for 51 yards. And wide out Allen Hurns had a 23-yard touchdown catch on his only target of the night.

Defensively, linebackers Jaylon Smith and rookie Leighton Vander Esch both recorded nine total tackles. Defensive ends DeMarcus Lawrence, Tyrone Crawford, and defensive tackle Daniel Ross each recorded a sack. Rookie defensive end Dorance Armstrong and defensive tackle Caraun Reid both posted half a sack each.
