Defensive Backs

September Grade: B-
October Grade: B

Another slight tick upwards is given to the Dallas Cowboys secondary. A full grade improvement would have been issued, if not for the 375-yard performance allowed to Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Otherwise, this group has been stellar. In two straight games, no receiver has put up 50+ yards against them. Both interceptions this team has in 2018 came in October too. Another month of the same level of play from cornerback Byron Jones should also result in a Pro-Bowl nod for the star of the group.

Special Teams

September Grade: B+
October Grade: B+

This grade remains the same as kicker Brett Maher missed just one kick all month, albeit one that would have tied the game last week in Washington. Punter Chris Jones has done slightly better in October but is still performing at just an average rate in 2018.
