The Dallas Cowboys face their arch-rival with first place on the line. Here are four players that need to play well this week for the Cowboys to win.

Coming into this game the Dallas Cowboys are riding high after a win against the Jaguars but the Redskins are also coming off of a big win against the Panthers.

Both teams haven’t been able to string together back to back wins yet this season. Something has to give and I believe if these four players can come out and play well the Cowboys have a great chance to get their first back to back win.

Left Guard Connor Williams

Connor Williams has had his ups and downs this season as a rookie starting at left guard. This week he will face a big test when he lines up against defensive end Jonathan Allen. For Williams to win this matchup he is going to have to use his quickness to beat Allen and get inside his shoulder pads and control him.

Williams won’t be able to beat Allen in the strength department so if he can beat him with speed the Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott will eat up yards this week.

Safeties Xavier Woods, Jeff Heath

Both Xavier Woods and Jeff Heath are going to have their hands full covering the Redskins tight end combo of Vernon Davis and Jordan Reed. These two players are to the focal point of the Redskins offense and Woods and Heath will both need to make sure that they don’t fall for shallow crossing routes and let the Redskins tight ends run down the seam for easy catches.

Quarterback Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott had a breakout game last week and will look to build on that against a very opportunistic Redskins defense. The Redskins are going to be confident that they can contain and stop Prescott from running the ball after facing quarterback Cam Newton last week.

Prescott should be able to use this to his advantage by using the bootleg to connect with receivers for big gains. Redskins cornerback Josh Norman and Quinton Dunbar have fallen for double moves all season and the Dallas Cowboys and Prescott should be able to exploit that.

This Dallas Cowboys team has a chance to make a statement in this division this week. Let’s hope they don’t squander it. I will be at the game this week so if anyone wants to talk Cowboys and have a drink let me know by sending me a message on Twitter at Watson703.
