3. Goodbye help

These aren’t the same Cowboys.

You know, when I read lines like these I’m usually waiting for the ensuing optimism. It’s where the author describes a change within the team, an organization, for the better, of course.

But this simply isn’t the case. Overreaction? Perhaps. The Cowboys are 0-1 without the superstar (Dez Bryant) and icon (Jason Witten) and golden foot (Dan Bailey). Travis Frederick is missed at the center position, and maybe, just maybe, the ceiling is coming down just when this rodeo is starting up.

4. Failure to launch

I guess missing dress rehearsal is a big deal. Look, I get why the Cowboys decided not to play their key starters in the third preseason game. But hey, I called it: The Cowboys started the season lethargic and anemic on the offense.

Maybe the team needs some carbs. I’m reminded of the Snickers commercials. Ok, I’ll stop now.

5. The youth in Kellen Moore

Kellen Moore turned 30 last July. The dude looks younger than Dak Prescott. If the two don’t figure out how to toss the ball between the numbers, I bet you anything they’ll have more gray hair than your grandpa or, have no hair at all by December from all the stress.

Do I need to really write about Moore? That the Cowboys selected a quarterback coach with no coaching experience to help Prescott in arguably the most important position of all sports? Do we need to go there right now?

Going to pop a Snickers now. Maybe I’m just “hangry.”

Here we go, five thoughts on the Giants and Cowboys on NBC Sunday Night Football.
