Following their third straight loss of the preseason, the Dallas Cowboys are making plenty of headlines. But are they for the right reasons?

The Dallas Cowboys posted their most disappointing loss of the preseason on Sunday night in front of a primetime audience. But fans can take solace in the fact many of the Cowboys offensive starters did not play against the Arizona Cardinals including quarterback Dak Prescott, running back Ezekiel Elliott, and the majority of the offensive line.

Yet, the Cowboys still made plenty of headlines following their third preseason game and third straight loss. Let’s dive into five of this morning’s top headlines about your Dallas Cowboys.

Kavon Frazier doesn’t expect to miss any time – Pro Football Talk

The Cowboys were already relatively thin at the safety position going into this contest against the Cardinals. So seeing Kavon Frazier laying injured on the field was devastating. Luckily, it appears as if Frazier avoided serious injury and only separated his shoulder. He claims he could have returned if needed, but the scare may be enough to push Dallas into finally making the Earl Thomas trade happen.

Cowboys getting desperate at safety, maybe backup QB too after thrashing by Cardinals – Star-Telegram

It was a sad performance from second-year backup quarterback Cooper Rush. Not only did Rush throw his first two interceptions of his pro career, the first one was a pick-six to Cardinals’ All-Pro cornerback Patrick Peterson. If the Cowboys find a veteran available on the waiver wire following final cuts, Rush’s job maybe in jeopardy.

The top story of the night for Cowboys fans has to be the play of Randy Gregory. But football analyst Bryan Broaddus also smartly points out in the above article the stellar night cornerback Chidobe Awuzie had against the Cards. In fact, this entire offseason signs have been pointing towards the 2017 second round pick possibly reaching Pro Bowl status in year two.

ReFocused, NFL Preseason Week 3: Arizona Cardinals 27, Dallas Cowboys 3 – Pro Football Focus

Our friends over at Pro Football Focus want fans to shift their focus from the terrible offensive show Dallas put on Sunday night to the awesome job the Cowboys defense did in stopping Arizona. The “D” in Big D held the Cardinals’ passing game to under 70 total yards through the air! And they did so with strong secondary play supported by a constant pass rush. That’s something to celebrate!

Finally, let’s talk about Gregory. Despite his forced long layoff, nearly two years, the former second rounder has returned and looks to be in midseason shape somehow. Consistently flying off the edge and getting his first sack of the year, Gregory is raising our hopes up to a dangerous level. Especially if CBS Sports Insider Jason La Canfora’s recent tweet about possible trouble ahead is true. Gregory is off to a great start but given his troubling past, we should all temper our expectations.
