Dallas Cowboys: 10 early roster bubble candidates
Noah Brown, WR
After making the active roster last season, it appears Brown is in an uphill battle to do the same in 2018. A hamstring injury isn’t allowing the second-year receiver to participate in training camp. So he is sidelined while others are taking advantage of the extra snaps. With receivers like Deonte Thompson, Lance Lenoir, Mekale McKay, and Marchie Murdock starting to shine in camp, Brown could easily find himself on the practice squad this season.
Jameill Showers, S
It is very likely this is Showers last shot in Dallas. The former quarterback is no longer eligible to play on the practice squad. And the Cowboys may be forced to keep as little as four safeties on the roster due to other team needs. At this point, that leaves Showers on the outside looking in.
Marcus Martin, G
There was some early juice about Martin as a possible backup guard when he signed as a free agent back in March. The excitement stemming from him being a former third-round pick (2014). Unfortunately, the 24-year old is showing everyone why he never saw the field for the Cleveland Browns last season. Unless there is a sudden uptick in his play, Martin seems destined for a very short stay in Big D.
Those are my picks for 10 roster bubble candidates for the Dallas Cowboys. Did I miss someone you believe should be on this list? Or do you consider one or more of these players as locks to make the active roster? Let us know in the comment section below.
