With both Dez Bryant and Jason Witten no longer on the Dallas Cowboys roster who will become quarterback Dak Prescott’s new end zone threat?

This offseason, the Dallas Cowboys offense suffered two major losses. Those players being wide receiver Dez Bryant and tight end Jason Witten of course. Bryant was released in April after three years of lackluster production. Witten unexpectedly retired in May.

Say what you will about those former players. But both Bryant and Witten led the Cowboys in touchdown receptions last season. In fact, ever since Dak Prescott took over as the starting quarterback for America’s Team, Dez has been his main end zone threat. Those days are now gone.

Without either veteran to pass to, Prescott is going to have to find himself a new reliable end zone target. And there are plenty of options to choose from. But one insider believes one of the team’s newest faces could assume that role.

According to David Helman of DallasCowboys.com, Allen Hurns could be Prescott’s new end zone target.

"“I’m intrigued by what Allen Hurns might be able to do in that regard. Physically, he’s not quite as imposing as Dez Bryant, but he’s got good size and elusiveness. He’s also shown how good his hands are out here. I have a feeling the Cowboys might be able to use him down in that part of the field.”"

Hurns is certainly capable of turning in a double-digit touchdown performance in his first season with Dallas. The 26-year old is only two years removed from a 10-touchdown performance with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Unfortunately, injuries have stunted his production ever since.

But if Hurns can stay healthy, his natural catching ability, excellent route running and 6-foot-3, 201-pound frame make him an ideal end zone target.

If a tight end is capable of assuming that role, the early favorite has to be Blake Jarwin. The second-year player has impressed onlookers with his speed and ability as a receiver. At 6-foot-5, 260 pounds, Jarwin certainly has the size to provide a big passing window for Dak Prescott in the end zone.
