Ranking the Dallas Cowboys best players in 2018: 10-1
By Tyrone Starr
2. Zack Martin/Tyron Smith
I went back and forth on this one and decided I would just need to call it a tie. Both Martin and Smith are either the best at their position or a close second. Both have multiple Pro-Bowl and All-Pro accolades.
I was leaning towards putting Smith at three and Martin at two due to Smith’s recent injury issues. At that point, I realized how the entire offense fell apart without Smith in the lineup which is a true indicator of his value. Would the same happen if Martin were to miss time?
Let’s hope we never have to find out.
As fans of the Dallas Cowboys and great offensive line work, seeing them for all sixteen games is a pleasure in of itself.
1. Ezekiel Elliott
Sometimes life just is not fair. Already armed with three of the best linemen in all of football, the Cowboys can boast a top three running back as well.
Elliott is the total package. A fierce runner with break away speed and power to run over would be tacklers. Zeke has two receiving touchdowns over 70+ yards in his brief 26 game career. He fell 17 yards short of 1,000 last season all while missing six games.
Even with that, Elliott has the most rushing yards since he entered the league two years ago. Now, he has extra motivation to dominate as he would have won the rushing title twice in a row without the missed time.
