Defensive Tackle. (1975-1988). Randy White. 5. player. 123.

The Dallas Cowboys selected Maryland defensive end, Randy White, with the second overall pick in the 1975 NFL Draft. White played at linebacker for his first two years before being cementing at defensive tackle.

Once entrenched along the interior of the defensive line, “The Manster” came to life. White would end up earning his first Pro Bowl nomination that season. He was also named a first-team All-Pro and ended up being awarded co-MVP honors for his play in Super Bowl XII. The following year,  White would be named NFC Defensive Player of the Year.

During his entire 14-year career, White missed just one game. According to the Cowboys stats, he recorded a total of 1,104 tackles and 111.0 sacks. Unfortunately, the NFL didn’t start officially recording sacks until 1982, crediting White with just 52.0.

White would end up earning nine straight Pro Bowl and All-Pro nominations. He would play in six NFC title games and in three Super Bowls.

Randy White was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1994. He was also named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team of the 1980s and he is a member of the Cowboys Ring of Honor.
