4. Xavier Woods, FS

Xavier Woods has the most to gain, and the most to lose out of any Cowboys player in training camp this season.

After not addressing the safety position in the draft or free agency, Woods is slated to be one of the Cowboys starting safeties alongside Jeff Heath, and does not have much competition around him.

Dallas seems to have lots of faith in Woods. And their moves in the offseason seem to back this up.

Considering the other safeties on the Cowboys roster, and as long as Woods can prove that he is up to the challenge, I believe the starting free safety job is his to lose.

A possible Earl Thomas trade would throw a wrench into this whole situation, but lets save that for another day.

Back on Woods, he had 42 combined tackles in 2016, along with three pass defends and one interception.

Although Woods appeared in every game of his rookie season last year, he played mostly in the slot. So the 2016 sixth rounder has not had much of an opportunity to be on the field at free safety as he will in training camp this summer.

If he can back up the coaches faith in him, and have a solid camp, Xavier Woods can cement his spot as the starter at free safety on this Dallas Cowboys defense.
