Dallas Cowboys: Don’t count out Lance Lenoir making this roster
With an already crowded wide receiver room, is there a chance Lance Lenoir could work his way onto the Dallas Cowboys 53-man roster come September?
Wide receiver will be one of the most competitive positions in training camp for the Dallas Cowboys. With about 10 players competing for just five or six spots, it is going to be very interesting to see how the Cowboys handle there plethora of receiver talent.
With the recent arrest of Terrance Williams, there is even more uncertainty at the receiver spot, and if the veteran is suspended or let go, it will open up a spot for another young wideout to make the team.
One of those possible options is Lance Lenoir.
Lenoir is a 6’0, 210 lb receiver from Western Illinois who spent last year on the Dallas Cowboys practice squad. In college, he was a very productive player. In all four of his college seasons he recorded seven receiving touchdowns, a very solid number, and also surpassed the 1,000-yard mark three times.
Granted it was college, and Western Illinois is not a huge program, but it shows that he does have talent, and no Cowboys receiver came close to passing the 1,000-yard mark last season.
Lenoir also showed off his talent last Preseason, which earned him a spot on the Cowboys practice squad. He played in the final two preseason games, catching six passes for 100-yards, and also scoring two touchdowns.
The Cowboys seem to like Lenoir enough to keep him around all last year, so he will for sure get a fair chance to make this roster come training camp. Much of what happens in Dallas’ wide receiver room hinges on the availability of Williams. If he is suspended, let go, or still not fully recovered from his broken foot, there will be another spot open for the young Cowboys receivers to compete for.
According to Jon Machota of Dallas News, Lenoir has been receiving work with the first team at OTAs, which shows they are going to give him and all these young wide outs every opportunity possible to make the team.

Right now, your guess is as good as mine as to what wide receivers will be on the Dallas Cowboys 53-man roster come September. The position as a whole is as uncertain as it has been for the Cowboys in the past 10 years. When thinking about the final roster, don’t count out Lance Lenoir.
The coaches like him, and he has shown flashes of what he can do last training camp and preseason. Don’t be surprised if Lenoir is on Dallas’ final-53 when the Cowboys travel to Carolina to take on the Panthers to begin the 2018 season.
