Do the Dallas Cowboys have the best quarterback in the NFC East?

Carson Wentz – Philadelphia Eagles (silver medal)

Wentz may have won the gold medal if not for his injury and lack of body of work.

Last year, Wentz more than doubled his touchdowns while cutting his interceptions in half.

More from Cowboys News

He finished second in touchdown passes and fourth in passer rating, despite missing three games due to injury.

Prior to that unfortunate turn of events, Wentz was a serious MVP candidate.

Now?

We need to see how he comes back and plays from such an injury. While sports science and medicine have come a long away, the only true barometer will be actual performance on the field.

Some guys come back from major knee injuries and do not miss a beat.

Others take a while to get back to being themselves. Some never climb the mental hurdle.

The questions surrounding what his 2018 will be like are as big as his improvement from 2016 to 2017.

I do not expect him to have a significant drop off, but I can’t give him the gold medal either.
