As the NFL offseason comes fairly close to its end, we take a look at the five most important Dallas Cowboys in the 2018 season.

With the NFL draft wrapping up last weekend, the Dallas Cowboys roster is starting to take shape of what it will look like when they open their 2018 season.

There will be a much different looking Cowboys team on the field, as veterans Jason Witten, Dez Bryant, Orlando Scandrick, and Anthony Hitchens will no longer be with the team.

To get back to their 2016 success, the new look Dallas Cowboys are going to rely heavily on their star players to get them back into the playoffs.

Here are my top five most important Dallas Cowboys for the 2018 season

5. Dak Prescott

Coming in at number five on my list is the Dallas Cowboys signal caller, Dak Prescott. Now traditionally, number five would seem low for a quarterback of a team. In most cases, the quarterback is the sole most important player on many teams, and without their quarterback, there are hopeless. Although I do believe Prescott’s performance is vital to the teams success, Dallas is not like many other teams, and their quarterback is not their most important player.

In 2016 Dak Prescott had an outstanding season, and in 2017 he fell short of the high expectations set, and was considered by most as having a poor year. Now I do not believe like so many do that Prescott played that poorly in 2017, and I think the circumstances he had to play through, missing key pieces on the offensive and defensive side of the ball, really effected his play.

To have success and return back to the playoffs in 2018, the Cowboys do not need Dak Prescott to be superman. They need him to have a solid season, limit his turnovers, and help in the ground attack. People tend to forget how well Prescott was playing the first eight weeks of the 2017 season before Ezekiel Elliott was suspended and Tyron Smith was injured. Dak was playing at an MVP level, and had Dallas as one of the best offensives in the league.

If the Cowboys can even find a middle ground between the 2016 Prescott and the 2017 version, their offense will be more then capable of putting up great numbers and having tons of success. The main thing for Dak is taking care of the football, and if he can limit his turnovers, the Cowboys offense should be in great shape in 2018.
