Dallas Cowboys: 3 undrafted free agents to keep an eye on
By Tyrone Starr
Kyle Queiro – S, Northwestern
Speaking of guys who made plays in college, Kyle Quiero was another all around baller. With eight career interceptions, five in his senior year, Quiero could make a splash in camp.
He’s a big body at 6’3″ and 220 lbs so a rover position might be his best shot. At his Pro Day, Queiro ran a 4.71-forty which, again, does not equate to blazing speed.
In order to make the roster, he’ll likely need an impressive training camp, however safety is an area of need.
Ed Shockley – LB, Villanova
Shockley might remind a few people of a couple of linebackers who were Cowboys at the turn of the century. At 5’11” and 230 lbs., his body type is reminiscent of Dexter Coakley and Dat Nguyen.
Both of those players had far more impressive college resume’s but Shockley has some ability in his own right. He finished his career just four tackles short of 250 earning him All-Conference honors as both a junior and senior.
He may have a shot in Dallas as the linebacker position is possibly the one area of biggest need.

Will any of these three make the Dallas Cowboys in 2018? The chances are slim but there is talent here. With a few breaks and a breakout camp, anything is possible. The likelihood is that a couple of guys get stashed away on the practice squad and continue to hone their skills.
One thing is for sure, the Cowboys certainly will entertain the possibility of the underdog making the roster.
