The Dallas Cowboys went defense in round one. Which direction did America’s Team go with at the 50th overall selection in the second round?

With their first round selection, the Dallas Cowboys addressed their need for a linebacker. On Day Two, America’s Team turned their attention to the offensive side of the ball. And with that pick, the Cowboys secured the scariest positional group in the NFL.

With the 50th overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select …

NAME: Conner Williams
POSITION: Guard/Tackle
SCHOOL: Texas
HT/WT: 6-5, 296 pounds
AGE: 20-years old
PROS: Excellent athlete, good knee bend, flexible, solid technique, nasty streak
CONS: Length, contact balance, holding calls, arm length, lateral slide

ANALYSIS: The Cowboys secure their offensive line with a versatile player in Williams who should be able to slide in at left guard, between All-Pro’s Tyron Smith and Travis Frederick. This move also likely also allows La’el Collins to remain at right tackle, a position he began to excel late last season. Williams is a first-round talent who dropped to the Cowboys in the second round. Fans should be ecstatic.
