With several needs along their roster, the Dallas Cowboys opted to address their wide receiver position with their lone third round selection.
After bolstering their linebacker corps in round one and shoring up their offensive line in the second round, the Dallas Cowboys opted to address their need at wide receiver with their lone third round selection.
With the 81st overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select …
NAME: Michael Gallup
POSITION: Wide Receiver
SCHOOL: Colorado State
HT/WT: 6-1, 205 pounds
AGE: 22
PROS: Playmaker, good route runner, can get separation, reliable, physical
CONS: lack of top speed, can be streaky
2017 Stats: 100 recs, 1,413 yards, 7tds
ANALYSIS: In Gallup, the Cowboys find themselves an excellent route-runner who could potentially play either the X or Z receiver for Dallas. He’s a physical receiver who will fight for 50/50 balls and just has a nice all-around game. It appears the Cowboys found themselves a real gem in the third round.
