With the 2018 NFL Draft now just eight days away, we have our final Dallas Cowboys draft profile, looking at Notre Dame wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown.

Today we take a look at another possible wide receiver option for the Dallas Cowboys in the early round of the draft. Equanimeous St. Brown is a 21-year old, 6’5, 214 lb wide receiver from Notre Dame. St. Brown played three seasons for the Irish, and came out with very mixed results.

In his freshman year, he only appeared in two games, catching just one pass the entire season. After a rough start, in his sophomore year he had a breakout season. St. Brown totaled 58 catches, for 961 yards, and nine touchdowns. He led the Independent schools in touchdown receptions, and was third in total receiving yards and touchdowns from scrimmage.

St. Brown stayed in school and looked poised for an even bigger year in 2017, but this was not the case. His numbers dropped off significantly in his junior year in 2017, posting just 33 catches, for 515 yards, and four touchdowns.

At the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine, St. Brown participated in just two events. He ran a 4.48 40-yard dash, and posted 20 reps on the bench press.

At the Notre Dame Football Pro Day, St. Brown participated in the vertical jump, and record a 34 ½ inch vertical, which is very impressive for a guy of his size.

You can’t overlook his drop off of production from his sophomore to his junior season, but most people around football blame it on quarterback play. In 2016, with Deshone Kizer, St. Brown excelled, and in 2017, the Notre Dame quarterback situation was a mess, causing his production to really fall off.

The 21-year old receiver’s biggest strength is his combination of size and speed. Being able to run with 4.48 speed at 6’5 is a very rare combo. He has a very long body with a big catch radius, which makes him an easy target to throw too, something the Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott may like.

Although his measurable are impressive, coming into the NFL St. Brown will be a project player. He can play outside at the X, which would fill the void left by Dez Bryant, or he can play inside in the slot, something he also did in college.

For the Dallas Cowboys, St. Brown would be more of a long term investment than a immediate impact guy. If the Cowboys really believe in their current receiving core, and have trust in Allen Hurns, Cole Beasley, and Terrance Williams, then they may take a chance on the Notre Dame receiver.
