With the calendar turning to April and the Dallas Cowboys addressing needs in free agency, here is my first seven round mock draft.

Mock drafts are both an exercise in futility and a necessary evil.  No one has any idea what teams will do, including the teams themselves.  All we can do is the research, use as much common sense as possible and try our best.

Now that the Dallas Cowboys have dipped their toe into free agency, it’s time to focus on the draft.  The Cowboys, per usual, made their free agency noise in the second wave.  Allen Hurns and Cameron Fleming were the “big” names.  Others like Deonte Thompson, Marcus Martin and Joe Thomas were brought in for depth.

With those signings, it sure seems like the doors are open for the Dallas Cowboys to address the defense.  After several years of paying attention to the offensive side of the ball, Dallas started this process last year.

Taco Charlton, Chidobe Awuzie, Jourdan Lewis and Xavier Woods were all big contributors as rookies.  A second wave of youthful, talented defenders could do this team a lot of good.

If I have not already let the cat of the bag, you can expect me skipping wide receiver with pick number 19.

Of note, this mock draft is brought you via fanspeak.com using their draft board set at the highest difficulty level…
