With the numerous departures since free agency has opened paired with the lack of acquisitions, the Dallas Cowboys are faced with more questions than answers.

The big names are now, for the most part, off the board in free agency and the Dallas Cowboys are stuck finding themselves maneuvering through the mid level remaining free agents trying to find the best remaining value.

We should not be shocked by the Cowboys lack of aggressiveness as this has been their approach to free agency for the last couple seasons. But the amount of departures they have seen since the free agency window has opened has left a lot of question marks.

The departures of defensive lineman Benson Mayowa, linebackers Anthony Hitchens and Kyle Wilber, cornerback Orlando Scandrick, backfield mates Alfred Morris and Keith Smith, guard Jonathan Cooper and wide receiver Brice Butler have decimated the depth of the Cowboys roster.

While some of these players played more of a role than others, there are some valuable names on this list such as Hitchens, Morris, Cooper and Butler.

The Cowboys have finally gotten involved in the trade market making a trade with the Oakland Raiders for fullback Jamize Olawale. While not a flashy trade it certainly does address a need after losing Keith Smith when he decided to leave for the Raiders.

The Cowboys are also scheduled for a couple veteran free agent visits coming up this week that include wide receivers Justin Hunter and Dontrelle Inman, offensive linemen Cameron Fleming, Marcus Martin and LaAdrian Waddle. Reports also surfaced Tuesday that the Cowboys are trying to get recently released wide receiver Allen Hurns in for a visit.

As you can see they have clearly placed a priority on improving their offensive line and adding depth to their receiving corp. You can rest assured that both of these position groups will be high priorities come draft day as well as their defensive line and depleted linebacker group.

With their lack of activity in free agency, the Dallas Cowboys have left themselves with a very small margin for error via the draft as they will continue to lean heavily on young players to immediately contribute.
