TRADE: The Dallas Cowboys trade picks 116,137, and 192 to the Arizona Cardinals for pick 97

Round 3 Pick 97: Derrick Nnadi DT Florida State

With 10 picks in the draft, it feels like the Cowboys making a move at some point is inevitable. In my mock, the Cowboys make their move to get back into the end of the third round, giving up both of their fourth round picks and a sixth rounder.

The Cowboys make this move to bolster their defensive line, and select Derrick Nnadi the defensive tackle out of Florida State. Stephen Jones has made it pretty clear the Cowboys will not a take a one technique in the first round, so they get theirs here in the third.

Nnadi could serve as a nose tackle in the Dallas defense, and is a very impressive player on tape. He is good in the run game, and could be a disruptive force for the Cowboys in the middle of their defense.

Round 5 Pick 171: Darrel Williams RB LSU

After losing Alfred Morris to free agency, the Cowboys will need to add a running back in the draft. Darrel Williams is a powerful, 6’1 230 lb runner, and would complement Ezekiel Elliott and Rod Smith in the Dallas backfield.

Round 6 Pick 193: Davontae Harris CB Illinois State

With the Cowboys moving on from Orlando Scandrick, they take a chance on Harris in this sixth round, adding some depth at the cornerback position.

Round 6 Pick 208: Skyler Phillips G Idaho State

You always can use depth on your offensive line, and the Cowboys address this by taking Skyler Phillips out of Idaho State. The 6’3 325 lb linemen is one of the strongest players in the draft and played all over the line at Idaho State. He can be versatile and add position flex which the Cowboys love.

Round 7 Pick Pick 236: QB Chase Litton Marshall

The Cowboys have made it clear they will not add a veteran quarterback via free agency, so they go with quarterback Chase Litton from Marshall with their last pick in the draft. The Cowboys were one of the teams at Litton’s pro day, so it seems that they have interest in the young quarterback.
