With the 2018 NFL Draft just a little over a month away, we take our third crack at what the Dallas Cowboys picks may look like in this year’s selection event.

After a so far non productive free agency period, the 2018 NFL Draft will be make or break for the Dallas Cowboys. They have many holes to fill, and will need to rely on the draft after their lack of activity in free agency.

After a trade with the Oakland Raiders on Monday, here is an updated list of the Cowboys picks in the 2018 draft.

Dallas Cowboys 2018 draft picks

Round 1: Pick 19

Round 2: Pick 50

Round 3: Pick 81

Round 4: Pick 116 Pick 137

Round 5: Pick 171

Round 6: Pick 192 Pick 193 Pick 208

Round 7: Pick 236

With the 19th pick in the 2018 NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys select….

Round 1 Pick 19: Calvin Ridley WR Alabama

Analysis: In the first round I have the Dallas Cowboys selecting 6’1 190 lb wide receiver Calvin Ridley out of Alabama. It is no secret the Cowboys want to upgrade their receiving corps this offseason, and their interest in offering Sammy Watkins a lucrative contract, seems like they believe it is a pressing are of concern that needs to be addressed.

After his mediocre performance at the NFL Scouting Combine, Ridley has been falling down draft boards, and in this mock falls into the Cowboys lap at pick 19. Ridley would add great speed to the Cowboys offense, running a 4.43 40 yard dash at the combine, and is an outstanding route runner, two things the Dallas current receiving core really lack. He would be an immediate plug and play starter as a Z wide receiver.

Although they may have more pressing needs, Ridley’s talent and potential are too hard for Dallas to pass up. He can instantly help impact their offense, and is great insurance if they decide to part ways with Dez Bryant next offseason.
