With the NFL Scouting Combine almost over, here’s my first attempt at mocking the entire first round of the upcoming draft. And be sure to checkout the surprising pick I’ve made for the Dallas Cowboys at #19.

Without further ado, here’s my top pick in the 2018 NFL Draft …

1. Cleveland Browns- Sam Darnold QB USC

The Browns clearly need an upgrade at the quarterback position. DeShone Kizer really struggled last year, throwing a league high 22 interceptions. Cleveland’s offense finished last in the NFL scoring only 14.6 ppg. The Browns also finished 24th in the league averaging only 308 yards per game.

Darnold is just 20 years of age, and the most talented quarterback in this draft. He has great measurable, coming in at 6’4 and 225 lbs. Darnold also has a knack for making big plays down field in the passing game.

There may be a learning curve for Darnold, but he clearly posses the talent and physical ability to be a star in the NFL. The Browns clear biggest need is quarterback, so this make this a fairly simple pick. He With an extremely high ceiling, the Browns may finally find their franchise quarterback in Darnold.

2. New York Giants- Josh Rosen QB UCLA

The Giants follow the Browns and take their potential franchise quarterback in Josh Rosen.

The 20 year old 6’4, 218 lbs junior out of UCLA, is the perfect option to eventually replace Manning in New York. In 2017, Rosen completed 62% of his passes, for 3756 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He placed second in the Pac-12 in passing touchdowns, and passing yards.

With Eli Manning most likely in his final season with New York, the Giants will need a new signal caller to lead the way for their offense, and Rosen is their guy.
