Round 2 Pick 50: OG Will Hernandez UTEP

In round 2, the Cowboys decide to bolster their offense line, selecting guard Will Hernandez out of UTEP. Hernandez could come in an instantly be a starter at left guard, and would save the Cowboys money rather than re-signing Jonathan Cooper, or going after a starting guard in free agency.

Hernandez was a four-year starter at UTEP, and is a powerful lineman.  He is strongest in the run game, which Dallas relies on to make their offense go.

Sliding into an offensive line with All-Pros Travis Fredrick, Zack Martin, and Tyron Smith, Hernandez could have an extremely high ceiling and turn into another star along the  Dallas offensive line.

Round 3 Pick 81: WR Michael Gallup Colorado State

The Cowboys address their need at the wide receiver position, selecting Michael Gallup from Colorado State in round 3. Gallup is a 6’1 202 lb, athletic receiver who scored 21 touchdowns in 26 games at Colorado State.

Gallup has a knack for finding the endzone, which the Cowboys could desperately use in their passing offense. More of a raw talent, Gallup may be a bit of a project, but has lots of potential if he can harness it.
