Round 1 Pick 19: LB Tremaine Edmunds Virginia Tech
Analysis: In this first round the Dallas Cowboys could go a variety of different routes. In my mock, I have them selecting 6’5 250lb LB Tremaine Edmunds out of Virginia Tech. Edmunds would instantly fill a starting linebacker spot left if the Cowboys lose Anthony Hitchens to free agency (which I believe they will).
Edmunds is a physical, strong, freak athlete who can line up at any linebacker position. The 19 year old linebacker recorded 202 total tackles over his last two college seasons, and is always around the football.
Edmunds would give the Cowboys defense a physical presence in the middle, and would be great injury insurance if Sean Lee or Jaylon Smith go down. Overall, the Cowboys get a stud defender, with All-Pro potential in round one.
