National sports commentator Colin Cowherd had some harsh words concerning Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant and his recent remarks.

One of the biggest stories swirling around the Dallas Cowboys this offseason has been about the future of veteran wide receiver Dez Bryant. Despite being paid like a top player at his position, Bryant’s production has been woefully underwhelming for the past three years. And there is a sense this Cowboys’ front office has had enough.

Amidst speculation the Cowboys will ask Bryant to take a pay cut this offseason, as the 29-year old receiver is schedule to count $16.5 million against the salary cap for each of the next two seasons, the passionate veteran took to the radio to vent his frustrations.

In a interview with 105.3 The Fan last Friday, Bryant vehemently defended himself from his critics. Even to go as far to say those who don’t believe in him should kiss his a**.

That didn’t sit well with one national sports commentator, who believes the Cowboys would be better off separating themselves from the slumping receiver.

"“Now is not the time to go third person and insult members of the Cowboys, who certainly no longer need you,” responded Colin Cowherd to Bryant’s recent remarks on his television/radio show, The Herd. “Here is one thing I know about Dez Bryant. As a wide receiver, he can no longer separate. It’s time for the Cowboys to create some separation of their own and get rid of this clown. It’s time to build the next great Cowboy team.”"

Once again, Dez Bryant’s passion is a double-edged sword. His fiery temperament has always been viewed as his catalyst on-the-field, making him the dynamic, hard-nosed playmaker Cowboys fans fell in love with. But it’s that same passion that, even Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones admitted, can become a distraction and ultimately detrimental to the team as a whole.

Dez Bryant’s sideline dramatics are well documented and often misconstrued. But his recent radio interview was loud and clear. Dez Bryant believes in Dez Bryant. For better or for worse. The Dallas Cowboys have a major decision to make this offseason. And we know exactly how Colin Cowherd feels about it.
